April Lockhart
April Lockhart born 4 July 1995. She began piano and guitar lessons in the 7th grade, which ignited her interest. In April, when she was 12 years old, she composed her first single, Different. When she was 14 April spent a lot of her time singing and writing songs. Then, in the following months, April began to go on trips with her dad and to write songs either in NY and LA. April also added additional themes to the song "Take My Hand" for a few of her the friends she had who struggled with issues such as peer pressurization problems, as well as teenager suicide. Lockhart, a popular lifestyle influencer as well as working in partnerships with clean beauty brands Ilia and YSL, has cultivated a large fan base. The disability she has is part of her personality, but it's not all of the image. Lockhart's Twitter profile does not shy away from the fact that she is disabled however, it doesn't make a point of it. The point? There is more to us than the physical person we are. Our identities are complicated and encompass a variety of aspects. Lockhart tells Lockhart via video "I am not convinced that my physical appearance is what defines my character. My goal is not to influence disability, because I've so much more to offer." But it does not affect my day-to-day living. I do the things I normally would and have adapted to my disability. Since it's a an integral part of me, it's something that's worthy of discussion. Lockhart is a great example of how to stay striving to be self-accepting. She admits that she has been through times when she was uncomfortable dressing in certain styles that displayed her arms. Now she wears whatever outfit she likes and uploads photos on Facebook with pride. For her, self-love is always a lengthy trip. But I think that's with everyone with whatever the source of their anxiety. I believe having friends with you who know you and see the depths of your soul is vital as they'll be the ones who will remind you what you worried about?
